Traidcraft and Zaytoun

A bag of Traidcraft coffee; all of the coffee and tea served after our services here at St John's Wood Church is by TraidcraftAfter our Sunday morning services we regularly operate a stall selling a range of products by Traidcraft and Zaytoun. As well as chocolate, coffee and tea, this means that you can browse for olive oil, almonds and dates while you digest the sermon! A full list of dates on which the stall is operating in the coming months is below, but here’s a little more information about the two organisations – click on the links to their websites to find out more!

Traidcraft was established in 1979 as a Christian response to poverty, with a mission to fight poverty through trade, practising and promoting approaches to trade that help poor people in developing countries to transform their lives. As well as paying people throughout the production line a fair price, Traidcraft aims to build lasting relationships with producers, support people to trade out of poverty and work to bring about trade justice.
Zaytoun, a Fair Trade company, is committed to bringing Palestinian produce to the UK. Initially funded by hundreds of people willing to put up their money in advance of receiving their oil, in 2009 they launched the world’s first ever Fairtrade olive oil. They work closely with with their producers and processors, bringing many of them to the UK for Fairtrade Fortnight as well as taking consumers to meet them twice a year.
