Heritage
A place of worship since 1814

About our building
St John’s Wood Church was consecrated in 1814, in the same year that Thomas Lord moved his cricket ground to St John’s Wood. We are thankful for the generations of worshippers who have gone before us: “These stones that have echoed their praises are holy, And dear is the ground where their feet have once trod”. An appreciation of our heritage encourages us as we continue on our pilgrim journey.

Our History
As St John’s Wood has grown, St John’s Wood Church’s place in the community has evolved, from being a funeral chapel to being St John’s Wood’s parish church, here for everyone in the parish.
