African Theology Matters – starting Sunday 18th January
African Theology Matters is a fascinating set of study sessions starting on Sunday 18 January, led by Jaiye Edu and Gary Eaborn. Africa is now home to the fastest growing Christian population in the world. By the middle of the 21st century, some 40 per cent of the world’s Christians will live in sub-Saharan Africa. African voices are increasingly shaping global Christianity. To understand the future of the Church, we need to listen to African theologians.
In this series Jaiye and Gary will introduce six leading figures in African theology. Each of these theologians presents ideas which can inspire our own approaches to mission, scripture, theology and ethics. Each session will introduce a theologian’s life and thought, with space for discussion. The sessions will take place in person in the Church Hall on five consecutive Sundays from 18 January, 3.45-4.45pm.
