Interregnum

21 July, 2026

The parish is in a period of vacancy commonly called an interregnum. This is both a time during which the formal process of finding a new vicar takes place, and a helpful time of space and reflection.

There is a set process for appointing a new incumbent. We are currently expecting interviews to take place in March 2027 and that the interregnum will last about a year. The responsibilities of the incumbent devolve during the interregnum to the churchwardens and the Area Dean. The Revd Dr Gary Eaborn, whose curacy has now been completed at St John’s Wood Church, has agreed to stay on in the parish for now so that we will continue to have a resident priest.
