For many years, Anders has read Dante’s Purgatorio from Divine Comedy every Lent on his own account. This year he invited members of the congregation to join him as Anders introduces one canto on each of Sunday afternoons, and the session ends with part of the canto being read aloud.
Anders promised a final session of Dante reading. This will take place on Sunday 24 May. Tea at 4.45pm, reading from 5pm, finishing in good time to attend Choral Evensong, which is sung by the Chamber Choir at 6.30pm. We will read the beautiful final canto of Purgatorio. NB We will meet in the Vicarage rather than the Ambulatory, because there is so much else happening in the building that afternoon. You don’t need to bring a copy of Divine Comedy – texts are provided.
