Join us for this 1965 Classic (rated 15). Julie Christie’s break-out role won her an Oscar, as did Frederick Raphael’s original screenplay. This film takes us back to the swinging sixties, following Julie’s rise from model to actress and beyond on the road to ultimate desirability. In this quest she is ably abetted by Dirk Bogarde. In the intervening sixty years this film, showing in a newly restored print, has lost none of its satirical edge.
This will be shown on Saturday 2 August, at the usual time of 6pm for 6.30pm in the Church Hall. As ever, for a suggested donation of £2 (£1 for senior citizens and children) you receive a full evening’s entertainment including refreshments. All films are subtitled for the hard of hearing.
