Saturday 22nd June– The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
Voted runner up in our end of season poll, it tells the true story of a Malawian
13 year old William Kamkwamba who, despite his lack of formal schooling,
studies a book on engineering. His aim is to build a wind turbine to pump
water for his village.
Directed by and featuring Chiwetel Ejiofor, it is a real gem.

Saturday 6th July – Enola Holmes
While searching for her missing mother, intrepid teen Enola uses her
sleuthing skills to outsmart her more famous brothers, and also to help a
runaway Lord. Starring our very own wunderkind, Millie Bobby Brown and a
host of British character actors, this is a both exciting and amusing period
adventure with top notch production values.

Saturday 20th July – One Life
Just released on DVD, this award winning film tells the true story of “Nicky”
Winton, who, in the months leading up to World War 2, rescued over six
hundred predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis.
This very moving film stars Johnny Flynn as the younger Winton and
Anthony Hopkins as the elder. It is a must see.
