The King’s Troop arrive

We celebrate our Patronal Festival over the weekend of 26/27 June 2010.

Fri 25 June 8pm Concert in Church.
St John’s Wood Church Choir sings Music for a Summer’s Evening.

Free entry with a retiring collection in aid of St John’s Hospice - refreshments will be served during the interval.

Sat 26 June 2.30pm Patronal Festival Procession leaves Church, and finishes with tea at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The procession, in the style of a carnival, will include a giant head of John the Baptist, local school children in costume, and live music.

The procession winds through the streets of St John’s Wood with the King’s Troop, the Clergy, the Church Chamber Choir, drummers, a brass band, and members of the congregation. The event will end with a simple service at Lord’s followed by tea.

Sun 27 June Morning Services at the usual times:
8am Holy Communion (Prayer Book)
9.30am Sung Eucharist with crèche and Junior Church
11am Choral Eucharist with the St John’s Wood Church Choir - music to include: Haydn: Mass in E flat “Grosse Orgelsolomesse” Hob. XXII:4, Gibbons: This is the record of John.
6.30pm Choral Evensong with the St John’s Wood Church Chamber Choir - music to include: Responses: Tompkins, Richard Shephard: Sing, choirs of heaven!
