Bicentenary

St John’s Wood Church was founded in 1814, which made 2014 our 200th anniversary! Information about the events we held to celebrate can be found in this section of the website, as well as information about how the money we raised is being spent.
To find our more about how to make a donation, or about our Bicentenary year, contact us! The vicar also gives more of an insight into our activities below.
Merchandise
We created a line of merchandise to commemorate this special year for us and our church, some of which is still available to buy through the Parish Office.

A word from the Vicar….

2014 was a big year in the life of St John’s Wood Church, as we looked back in gratitude on the life of this place in the 200 years since it was dedicated; from its beginnings as a funeral chapel, to its remarkably diverse and flourishing life as a parish church today. We also looked forward to new ways in which we can serve the people of our part of London in Jesus’ name.

And of course we celebrated! This section of our website sets out some of the ways in which we marked the bicentenary milestone, with celebratory and fundraising events. The money we raised is being put to good use in projects to enrich the life of the church, as well as helping those less fortunate than ourselves. There is also information about the merchandise which we created as mementos of this special year, some of which is still available for purchase.

We invite you to help us to mark our Bicentenary year!
